Romance Writers Weekly ~ Inspire Me
I know I’ve been gone a while. We MOVED! We are now residents of the great state of Missouri. We bid a fond farewell to Texas and are excited about this new phase of our lives. I’m still going back to Texas for All About Books, The Texas Book Bash, and Readers and Ritas. I don’t know about any great signings in MO, so if you know of something, drop me a note.

This week Leslie Hachtel said, “People always ask me where I get my inspiration for my stories. Where do you get your inspiration?” If you missed Leslie’s post hop back HERE.
.
So, what inspires me and my stories. Good question…. I wish I could say it’s one thing or another, but the truth is, Inspiration comes from everywhere. Sometimes I dream a thing and it turns into more. For example, I once dreamed of a jester robbing a castle and that morphed into Mayan Afterglow.
.
The inspiration for A Lady’s Honor came from my real life experiences. My first husband passed and I found love again with another wonderful man. I wanted to write a book where the new love didn’t replace the old one or demean it. I wanted to write a book that showed a person could find a different but equally satisfying love. It took me almost 15 years to write the book of my heart and the outpouring of love for A Lady’s Honor has touched me more than I can say.
.
As you can see, inspiration doesn’t have just one road to travel by. An overheard conversation in a coffee shop can turn into the catalyst for an entire series. We writers are crazy that way.
