Romance Writers Weekly ~ Whatcha Reading?
Welcome back. I feel like spring is trying to break through here in the Midwest. I hope you’re having better weather wherever you are.
This week we get our topic from Brenda Margriet – Writers are readers, too! What have you been reading lately?
For some reason February was a struggle for me in the reading department. I started several books but have yet to finish all but one. That said, none of these books are bad. Like the boyfriend said, It’s me not you. LOL I’m still planning to finish every one. I’m just moody and can’t stick with anything.
Here’s the list:
Heart of Blood and Ashes by Mila Vane. This is a high fantasy and it’s so good. I just haven’t been in the right mind for more than a chapter or two before I’m looking for something lighter. I’m 1/3 through.
Super Attractor by Gabrielle Burnstein. This is self help about manifesting the things you want in life. It’s really good, but requires me to it down and take notes and I haven’t. I’m 1/4 through.
Escorting The Billionaire by Leigh James. This, I predict will be very sexy, but I only just started it and need to get back into it very soon.
A Heroine’s Journey by Gail Carriger. I’m supposed to have finished this for a book club, but barely made a dent despite the fact that it’s a very well written and witty book. I shall prevail!
How to Love Your Elf by Kerrelyn Sparks. I read the first chapter and loved it! And then I got distracted. I love Kerrelyn and know it’s a wonderful book. I promise, this is next on my list.
I’m starting to get depressed about my lack off follow through. ALL OF THESE BOOKS ARE SO GOOD! It’s me who is flawed. I will be back to tell you how much I loved these books when my moodiness has faded with the winter thaw. I need a few days in the 70s and I’ll be right again.
My one gold star:
The Road to Rose Bend by Naima Simone!!! This was an ARC and I tore through the book. I loved it! It’s a second chances, best friend’s brother, friends to lovers story that will break you heart and put it back together again.
