Romance Writers Weekly ~ Spring Flowers bring…
Leslie Hachtel wants to know: What is your favorite spring flower and why? Is it the scent? A memory?
The irony is not lost on me that despite being 2/3 of the way through April and writing about spring flowers, it is going to snow here in Southern Missouri today. We were just out covering all the lovely new growth on our plantings from last year. It was our first summer in the new house we built and many of our trees are young and need a little TLC. Let’s hope it’s enough. By next week it should be spring again.
As for my favorite spring flower… I love forsythia for the bright yellow bloom. To me, when I see the forsythia, I know spring is here. I just love that color.
Another favorite of mine is Lilacs. This has a couple of reasons. I love the scent, the color and the memories of my mother planting a lilac bush in the back yard. When it grew up and bloomed like crazy, she would wait for my grandmother to visit then cut those beautiful blooms and put the in the kitchen for my grandmother who loved them. Everything about lilacs makes me happy.
What’s your favorite flower memory?

It’s release day for Deception.

Lillian Dellacourt is beautiful, refined and absolutely lethal. She’s also the most feared and merciless demon hunter in The Company. She’s come a long way from the penniless seamstress’s daughter sold to the highest bidder, and it wasn’t by trusting a man, let alone an exiled Marquis with more on his mind than slaying the hellspawn…
For Dorian Lambert, Marquis de Montlambert, being sent to keep track of Lillian is no mean task. He’s wanted the fiery vixen since he first heard of her five years ago. But wooing the lady while fighting the demon uprising is difficult, especially when the lady’s tongue is as sharp as the Japanese sai blades she favors the hunt.
These two will have to learn to trust each other fast, because the demon master is back, and he’s planning to turn Edinburgh into a living hell…
