Romance Writers Weekly ~ An Ode to Furbabies!
Welcome back. This week our topic comes from Brenda Margriet – Do you have a pet? Or have a special pet memory? Please share – and photos welcome!
This is Molly Dog. She was so named because she was a rescue and came to us with the name Molly. Our cat was already named Molly, and so they became Molly Cat and Molly Dog.
We lost our Molly Dog two and a half years ago, and I’m still choked up talking about this sweet loving pup. She had been the neighborhood dog and abandoned many times in Texas before she came to us. We loved her with all our hearts and in return she gave her unconditional love. I still have this picture on my desk with a few others of my sweet girl.
We moved to Missouri with our old girl and six months later she was gone. We estimate she was between fifteen and sixteen. I hope I gave her the best four years of her life.
This is Molly Cat. She loves to eat grass and then give it back to us in the house. She’s not a fan of strangers and hates Simon (young boy cat). Mostly, she hides out in my bedroom. At night she will wake me for some petting time. She’s just a tiny thing at about eight pounds, but when she’s mad, she’s pretty scary.
This is Simon with me. He tops out at just over fourteen pounds of love. He’s a big boy and he eats whatever you give him. He even gobbled up an almond at Christmas when I dropped in on the floor. That almond nearly cost him his life when it got caught in his intestines. Our Christmas was spent in the emergency vet worrying over our little boy.
He survived and we adore him.
Both Simon and Molly Cat were also rescues. They found us and we love them to pieces. Simon was nearly frozen last winter and his poor nose was raw. His little paws were cracked. He needed a lot of love. In this picture his face is dirty. He gets into stuff all the time. LOL Keeps me on my toes.
I hope you’ll share you fur babies pictures with me in the comments.
