Romance Writers Weekly ~ A Girl Can Dream
This week’s topic comes from me. I asked my fellow authors, Other than the genre you write, what kind of books do you love to read and why?
I love so many types of books. Mostly romance, but not entirely. I love fantasy and science fiction. I read contemporary romance, paranormal…. I read a lot of history for research and because I love it. I find all books a great escape. I love finding one that will carry me away and I’ll stay up all night to finish. I love characters who you want to hug and strangle at the same time. I love when an author builds a world I want to live in.
I’d love to write a fantasy. A LONG….. time ago I tried my hand at a fatasy and it’s not a bad story. I’m thinking of taking this summer off to toy with it and see if it can be made into something really spectacular.
Are you thinking… “What is she talking about?”
In 2000 I was working in an office and a client sent us a King Cake for Mardi Gras. On top of the wrapped cake was an image. I found it and clicked a pic for you to see. (Yes. I save everything) From this picture. I invented three gods who precided over my world full of wonder and magic. Then the people angered to gods and the magic was taken away. My story is about the act of love that brings magic back to the world.
