Romance Writer’s Weekly ~ Tools of the Trade
Hello HOPPERS! I hope you’ve had an amazing week. My holiday shopping is done. Not wrapped. Not shipped. But everything is bought and in the house. Woohoo! Feeling like a BOSS!
This week Jenna Da Sie wants to know: What are some helpful tools and resources that you use for writing? You can see what Jenna has to say on the subject by clinking HERE.
A few years ago, I won a copy of a word processing program at a conference in Houston. The program is called Scrivener. I had heard of it and was really curious. Once I downloaded it, I was totally hooked. Scrivener helps me break down my stories into chapters and then when I’m done writing, I can compile the entire book and transfer it to Word. It helps me keep my research, character notes and even what I delete in one place. The post it board is perfect for writing those pesky synopses after the book is done.
I prefer to edit in Word because I can use Pro Writing Aid to help with errors and ease of reading issues. I would not recommend Pro Writing Aid unless you’re already really proficient at identifying errors. It can be a bit daunting.
Scrivener is great for everyone and all types of writing. It had templates for fiction, nonfiction, screenwriting and more. For me these programs are the tools of my trade and make my life much easier.

Okay, I’ve got to get Scrivener now!
