Fairy Tale Friday ~ Beauty and the Beast
Did Beauty tame the beast or was he just al lonely guy who wanted to be loved for who he was and not what he looked like?
I have to admit my favorite version of Beauty and the Beast has dancing candlesticks and tea cups. However, in its basic form. Beauty and the Beast is about magic and love. You really can’t go wrong with Magic and Love at the heart of things.
–
So a lonely beast becomes angry over a man stealing a rose. He makes a deal that if the man brings his daughter back, he can live.
–
Beauty goes in place of her father and charms the beast who proposes regularly. When she becomes sad and homesick he lets her go home but tells her she must return by a certain day.
–
She does not return but dreams of the beasts death and returns the next day and finds him dying.
–
Once she agrees to marry the best the spell is broken and he turns back into a handsome prince.
–
It’s a lesson. Beauty is only skin deep. Loving a person in spite of their outward appearance and because of what is inside is what romance is all about. It’s what we all want, to be loved for who we are. To be seen as we are. Unconditional love
-.
I love this story, but I’m still partial to a dancing and singing candelabra with a French accent. Just saying.

The Earl of Westbridge is dying, and without a male heir. His daughter Mary will lose her home if she does not marry before her father passes. She has already turned down two men while holding onto the hope of finding true love. In her desperation, she plays the wishing game, a childhood folly devised to chase away fear during thunderstorms.
Avery is the unwilling heir to the Westbridge earldom. He arrives a few days before the spring holiday in the middle of a horrific storm to offer his assistance to his distant cousin. Expecting a spinster who had been put on the shelf, he certainly never expected to develop feelings for the beautiful Mary Barrow.
Mistrust and doubt engulf them. It will take a miracle to bring them together. Or maybe just a wish come true.
