Romance Writers Weekly ~ What’s your Fav?
Welcome Hoppers!
This week Leslie Hachtel asked, What is your favorite romance genre and why? I’ll get to mine in a second, but if you missed Leslie’s post, be sure to hop back and check her out. She’s awesome!
.
My favorite genre of romance is Regency Historical. Mind you, I love paranormal and contemporary. I adore a little action adventure too. But there as nothing as satisfying to me as sitting down with a book
and sinking into a time long ago where the rules were clear and the consequences dire.
.
I love the rules, I love when they get broken and I love the men. Oh there is nothing like a good rogue. When man is so sure the last thing he wants is to marry and then he meets that one woman who changes everything. SIGH…
.
The pageantry! All those lovely dresses, waistcoats, lace, cravats and shiny boots. These people spent hours getting ready for a ball and then stayed out until dawn. They knew how to party! There are a lot of pitfalls to writing Regency, but I’ll give up a bit of modern slang for the sheer romance of it.
.
Keep on hopping. I’ll bet Jenna Da Sie has some lovely thoughts on the matter.

I love regency/historical too! There is just something about the time period.
