Romance Writer’s Weekly ~ “New Year, Who Dis?”
I’ts the first RWW of the NEW YEAR! Woohoo!!!
Elizabeth Schechter wants to know — “New Year, Who Dis?” — New Year’s plans and resolutions
I’ve been talking about my “goals” a lot lately. I’ve posted blog and FB posts about what I’m all about this year. One of the things I’ve decided is that instead of keeping a journal, which I always give up on about mid year, I’m keeping a Commonplace Book.
What is this, you ask? Well, a Commonplace Book goes back centuries. It’s a book were peopel write down things that interest them.
If I lived in the Elizabethan era, I might write down a recipe for keeping an infection out of a wound. Or maybe I’d write down how many candles I need to get through the week.
In my book, I’m writing down phrases, quotes, poems, song lyrics, etc… Just things that I like or strike me on that day. Maybe it will some bit of my own book that I liked when I wrote it or something I read in someone else’s or saw on Social Media.
The first I jotted in my Commonplace book for 2020 is…
“Life is not always a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well.” ~ Jack London
What are you doing differently in 2020?
