Romance Writers Weekly ~ My Life as a Romance Novel
I’m so happy you’re back this week for more fun hopping with RWW. Did you hop over from Leslie Hachtel http://lesliehachtelwriter.wordpress.com? If not, make sure you hop back, but first…
This week Victoria Barbour wants to know: If your life was a romance novel, what subgenre would it be, and why would your hero be amazing? Also, what would you call it? Can you write a blurb for it?
I think mine would be a contemporary romance. I know I’m supposed to pick what I write, but my husband doesn’t really fit the bill for paranormal or historical. Though, he is a gentleman in every sense of the word. Hmmm… Let me give the blurb a go and you tell me where my story fits into the world of romance genres.
At nineteen Andie left her mother’s house determined to never go back. She rolled the dice and moved in with her boyfriend of only a few months. She’d have done anything to get out, but as luck would have it, she struck gold with Jimmy. When fate rips him away, she’s left lost and alone. Certain she’ll never find love again, her head spins and her toes curl when Dave walked into her life.
Kind and understanding, Dave woos Andie for months. Waiting until she’s ready before he swoops in and carries her away.
Twice divorced, Dave comes with his own set of baggage. His life as a police lieutenant is complicated enough without a grieving widow to care for. Still, something about Andie tugs at him and keeps him chasing her, even when that means flying half-way around the world to be with her.
Between his doubts and her sorrow, will love be enough to keep them together?
I’m not sure about a title. What do you think?
It’s not the best blurb but I really think the story is too personal for me to do it justice. Still, you get the idea. I’m happy to tell you, LOVE was enough even though the road was pretty bumpy for a while. xoxo
Make sure you keep on hopping over to Victoria Barbour: victoriabarbour.com/blog and see what kind of romance novel her life would be. I know it’s going to be great!

When demons threaten London, Lady Belinda answers the call.
Lord Gabriel Thurston returns home from war to find his fiancée is not the sweet young girl he left behind. She’s grown into a mysterious woman who guards her dark secrets well. When he sees her sneaking away from a ball, he’s convinced it’s for a lover’s rendezvous. Following her to London’s slums, Gabriel watches in horror as his fiancée ruthlessly slays a man.
Lady Belinda Carlisle’s only concern was her dress for the next ball—until demons nearly killed her and changed everything. A lady by day, and a demon hunter by night, she knows where her duty lies. Ending her betrothal is the best way to protect Gabriel from death by a demon’s hand.
Gabriel soon realizes, like him, Belinda has been fighting for her country. He joins in the fight, determined to show her that their love can endure, stronger than ever.
