Romance Writers Weekly ~ To Journal or Not To Journal…
Welcome back to the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop. We are a group of writers with a lot to say and share with you. I had the topic this week. 🙂
I asked: Do you keep a journal? Why? Why not? What kind of things to you write: personal, writerly, vague or stream of consciousness? If you want to share a journal entry, we’d love to know your innermost thoughts. If you don’t keep one and you want to make one up, that’s cool too. 😉
Did you miss Jenna Da Sie ? You can always hop back and catch up. But first…
I know this was my topic, but I am the worst journal keeper. I want to do it. I mean to do it. Unfortunately, I constantly forget to do it. I’ve tried putting it by my computer, I’ve tried it by the bed and I’ve tried it next to the couch where I sit every night. I am still inconsistent. However, when I do It I really love it. I will journal today!
A friend of mine buys me a new journal every year. I have not started this year’s because I’m only about half way through last year’s book. Still, I will keep trying.
As for what I write: I usually just talk about what’s happening in my day. If a great story idea came to me, I will write it down. If we took a trip or someone was rude to me in the grocery store, I write that in my book.
I opened my journal to a random page and this is what it says:
12-27-16
The year is almost over. I had higher hopes for 2016.
My friends have suffered and I feel for them. 🙁
We wanted to be in Missouri by now, but I know it will happen. I refuse to lose faith.
This Journaling is Great!
My new Dream Book Planner has been good.
This week is not for working, though I would love to finish getting Healing the Viscount ready.
I’ll start new in the new year.
So, no revelations. LOL I will tell you that “Healing the Viscount” is sold to Kensington Publishing and will be available under the title A Lady’s Honor in April 2018. So progress has been made. I did not work during the holidays and it was a good rest and I was better about journaling for a few weeks. LOL. I do really enjoy it.
Do you Journal? Is it a habit or do you just do it when the fancy strikes you?

Desperate Bride (Forever Brides Book 3)
An unexpected promise . . . an everlasting passion.
An accomplished musician, Dorothea Flammel has refused more proposals than any London debutante; her only true love is her music. Dory’s shimmering talent and beauty have long been adored from afar by Thomas Wheel, an untitled gentleman who can only dream of asking for the hand of a nobleman’s daughter. But when her father, the insolvent Lord Flammel, arranges for Dory to marry a lecherous Earl in order to pay off a debt, she runs to Thomas—and proposes marriage to him.
Eloping to Scotland saves Dory from a disastrous fate, but what is for her a mere marriage of convenience proves more passionate—and more complex—than either imagined as rumors, scandal, and buried emotions come to light. And when a vengeful challenge from a drunken and embittered Lord Flammel puts Thomas’s life on the line, will the fragile trust between husband and wife be enough to save them both?
