Woohoo Summer! Welcome back for more hopping fun!

Someone who chooses to remain nameless, or forgot to tell us they, posted this subject. For all I know it could have been me. 🙂

Here we go!

Summer is unofficially here! I love a good outdoor party where everyone brings a dish. What’s your signature BBQ/Summer Party dish? Recipes welcome.

I’m from the northeast. We put the regular things on the grill like hamburgers and hotdogs but we also pop some clams on there and my personal favorite is London Broil. For those of you from the south, this is a thick cut top round. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I love it medium rare with just salt and pepper.

Another fan favorite in the Northeast that is not as popular in the south and Midwest is macaroni salad. I was kind of surprised that in Texas and Missouri (the two states I’ve lived in outside the NE) no one really eats cold pasta. My favorite is my husbands recipe. He uses rotini, red onions, green olives, artichokes, green peppers and black olives. He dices the vegetables all very small. Then he sprinkles on some powdered Italian dressing from the packet and mixes it up with a smidge of olive oil. Just before he serves it he douses is with Kraft Italian dressing. It’s delish!

I do find it interesting how different parts of the country have different things at their outdoor parties. What’s your family tradition?
