Romance Writers Weekly ~ Happy Thanksgiving Feast
Welcome back and Happy Thanksgiving Week!
This week, Leslie Hachtel said, “Two days until Thanksgiving. Share your favorite Thanksgiving recipe.”
Full disclosure! This is my sisters recipe. I have made a few adjustments of my own and as someone who is not a fan of stuffing/dressing, I love this stuff. LOL Really, for those of you in the Northeast of the US, we call it stuffing weather it’s in the bird or out. In the South if it’s made in a pan, it’s dressing.
Linda’s Sausage Stuffing
Ingredients:
- 2 bags of stuffing cubes (You can use stove top if you like. Linda does.)
- 4 Cups of chicken broth
- 1/2 Pound Italian sausage
- 1 lg or 2 md onions diced and sautéed
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Brown the sausage in a large saucepan. Removed sausage with a slotted spoon and set aside in a bowl. In the same pan add the onions and sauté on medium heat for 5 – 7 minutes until soft. You can add a little olive oil if the pan is too hot and smoking. Add the cicken broth and heat to a slow boil.
In a large bowl combine chicken broth, onions and stuffing mix. Add sausage and mix it all together. Spoon the mixture into a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
(If you want to add celery, it’s yummy too. Just sauté the celery with the onions. You’ll need two stalks)
Keep on hopping for Elizabeth Schechter — Read more from Elizabeth here:
Having slipped through Mannon’s fingers, Heir to the Firstborn Aria and her two Companions – Waterborn Aven and Fireborn Owyn – have left Forge behind and are on the road to the Earth tribe lands. There they’ll find the heart of the resistance. At least, that’s what they’ve been told by Memfis, Owyn’s adoptive father and Companion to Aria’s father, Heir to the Firstborn Milon. They will also find Aria’s Earthborn Companion, and take another step toward fulfilling the cryptic Vision of the Dove.
The Earth tribe lands are nothing like they were led to believe. The Healing centers have been destroyed, and Mannon’s men are out in force, with orders to bring the Waterborn to Mannon. To evade the guards, Aria, Aven, Owyn and Memfis follow a young healer back to her home – a healing center hidden in the cliffs overlooking the sea. There, they find the surviving healers, the Chieftess of the Earth tribe, and the Senior Healer. They are offered sanctuary, and the Senior Healer offers to complete Aven’s training as a healer. The Chieftess offers Owyn more – a link to his unknown past.
But not everything is what it seems, and their safe haven may not be as safe as they thought. Memfis goes off to seek visions, and doesn’t return. Then, in an instant, Aria and Aven both vanish, leaving Owyn racing against treachery and time to find them and uncover the truth…. A truth that might destroy their hopes for a future.
