Romance Writers Weekly ~ Food for Thought!
Welcome to the Romance Writers Weekly blog hop. Every week a group of terrific romance writers get together and post on a topic. I’m glad you’ve joined us. Be sure to hop all the way through.
This week, Leslie Hachtel asked: Is there any particular food that sparks your creativity. Why do you think? Is it associated with something like a memory?
I’m the tail end of the hop this week, so if you started here, hop back to Brenda Margriet
Let me begin by saying, I LOVE FOOD! Love too cook, love to eat. My favorite thing when I write in the morning is coffee and I try to have some protein because they say I should. LOL
In the afternoon sometimes it’s a cup of tea.
BUT… the most common thing for me to snack on is a salty treat. Now they tell me that eating potato chips and popcorn all day is bad for me. WHY?!!! Well, my waistline knows why. Still, I try to keep it reasonable and healthy. I grab a handful of nuts or some Veggie straws. If you haven’t tried these and you love salty crunch, you should. They are tasty and not too bad on calories and fat. Much better than the potato chips I really want. If I have popcorn, I make it in my microwave popcorn bucket and not from one of those packs. My favorite is on the stove with oil, but again this is bad for me. 🙁 Waaaa…
That’s how I get though a day of writing. Though if all is going well, I totally forget to eat. This is rare as muses are cruel and I LOVE FOOD!

Desperate Bride (Forever Brides Book 3)
An unexpected promise . . . an everlasting passion.
An accomplished musician, Dorothea Flammel has refused more proposals than any London debutante; her only true love is her music. Dory’s shimmering talent and beauty have long been adored from afar by Thomas Wheel, an untitled gentleman who can only dream of asking for the hand of a nobleman’s daughter. But when her father, the insolvent Lord Flammel, arranges for Dory to marry a lecherous Earl in order to pay off a debt, she runs to Thomas—and proposes marriage to him.
Eloping to Scotland saves Dory from a disastrous fate, but what is for her a mere marriage of convenience proves more passionate—and more complex—than either imagined as rumors, scandal, and buried emotions come to light. And when a vengeful challenge from a drunken and embittered Lord Flammel puts Thomas’s life on the line, will the fragile trust between husband and wife be enough to save them both?

I love veggie straws, they are so tasty! Sometimes I like the salty, but lately I’ve been craving sweet when I write.
