Romance Writers Weekly ~ Cover Love vs. Cover Hate
Welcome back for another week with the fabulous Romance Writer’s Weekly. This is a group of authors who support each other and sponsor a weekly blog hop just for the fun of it. Did you hop over from Leslie Hachtel? If not, be sure to hop back. She’s awesome!
This week Jenna Da Sie wants to talk book covers: what do you like to see on Romance book covers? Both characters, one character, shirts off, fully clothed, faces, silhouettes? What turns you off from choosing one?
This is an interesting perspective. What do romance writers like to see on a romance novel. It will be interesting to see what the hop determines.
What I don’t like is cartoons. These kind of covers lose me at the door.
That’s not to say that I have to see real people. I love covers that give some clue about the story with items, especially if they are vintage items. I find these intriguing.
Okay, your turn! What kind of covers turn you on and make you pick up a book?
Keep on going to J.J. Devine, she has something wonderful for you.
Here’s a few of my covers, just for fun.
I like the vintage ones too. Makes you wonder what the book will be about or how they play a part in the book. I love your covers by the way! 🙂
Thank you, Jenna!
I love the key and the heart image! And your Mayan series is great – similar enough to know they are part of a set, but distinct, too.
Thanks, Brenda. The Mayan covers were done by Bookish Design. She’s awesome. Glad you like them.
I love the new covers for your Mayan series. Loved reading it too.♥
Thank you, Marc. I love those books. Bookish Design did a great job on the covers. She’s wonderful to work with.
