Romance Writers Weekly ~ Are you and Animal Person?
This weeks topic comes from the fabulous Brenda Margriet – What kind of animal person are you? Do you have pets? If so, how do they influence your writing, or don’t they? What is the most unusual pet you’ve had, either as a child or adult?

I do have pets. I love animals. We have a dog and a cat both named “MOLLY”. We call them Molly Cat and Molly Dog. They are both rescue pets. Someone dumped Molly Cat on our front lawn nine years ago when she was just a tiny thing. Molly Dog was abandoned by an old neighbor of ours when they moved away. She has actually been left behind several times under the excuse of, “she’s just a neighborhood dog.” You can imagine my fury at learning this.

I’ve had cats all my life. We did have a dog when I was a kid, but she was really my sister’s dog. I loved Pepper but never wanted a dog when I grew up and moved out on my own. Molly dog changed all that. I fell in love in a heartbeat and am so blessed that she made this her home.
–
Anyway, both Mollys live here now. They are my babies and will never be left behind again. They bring joy and love to my life every single day even when they won’t let me sleep in on Sunday.

The oddest pet I ever had was an American Iguana. He was awesome and grew to be 6 feet long. I loved him but he got an infection we just couldn’t get rid of and it was a sad day when he died.
The Earl of Westbridge is dying, and without a male heir. His daughter Mary will lose her home if she does not marry before her father passes. She has already turned down two men while holding onto the hope of finding true love. In her desperation, she plays the wishing game, a childhood folly devised to chase away fear during thunderstorms.
–
Avery is the unwilling heir to the Westbridge earldom. He arrives a few days before the spring holiday in the middle of a horrific storm to offer his assistance to his distant cousin. Expecting a spinster who had been put on the shelf, he certainly never expected to develop feelings for the beautiful Mary Barrow.
–
Mistrust and doubt engulf them. It will take a miracle to bring them together. Or maybe just a wish come true.
LOVE the iguana! I don’t like snakes but reptiles are fun!
Thank you for taking in Molly Dog! Shame on those people! I’ve always thought it’d be cool to have an iguana.
