One thing I love about Romance Writers Weekly is the ability to discuss the voices in my head without anyone thinking, Man Andie is nutsy coocoo. Well, at least they don’t tell me so if they’re thinking it. I think they all have there own voices and there’s security in that. 🙂

I mention this because this week S. C. Mitchell  asked us to tell about the people living in your head right now. Do an interview with the hero and/or heroine of your current work in progress or your latest release.

In my latest release, Tainted Bride my heroine is wonderful and lovely and damaged and I adore her…

But… I wrote that book a long time ago. Readers may not know this but from my brain to your fingers can sometimes be a couple of years. It’s a long time to wait for your baby to reach the world.

That said, While I love Sophia (Tainted Bride) more than words can say, the character in my head right now is not from that book. In fact, she’s not even from the Forever Brides series. The character bludgeoning my brain with her wit and sass at the moment is Phoebe Hallsmith. She’s nearly twenty-five years of age and in her day that was considered an old maid. She is no longer suitable for the marriage market of London society. If Phoebe were an ordinary girl she would have left her ailing grandmother in Wales and come home for her most advantageous seasons. She would have found a husband and be raising children by now. However, Phoebe ignored her mother’s demands and stayed with her grandmother until that fine lady passed. Now it’s too late and her mother and oldest brother’s constant nagging became too much.

Her options being limited, she did the least likely thing… I’ll let her tell you about it.

I know I should have gone home and I did for a while. I might have even become a nanny or a companion. While those things would not have made my family happy, they would have been acceptable choices. My mother has not spoken to me in a year. Not since I joined the Everton Domestic Society.

You may not be familiar with the Evertons. they are a lovely couple Lord Rupert and Lady Jane Everton. Lady Jane was a nanny and fell in love with a lord. Not wanting other women to have no choice she formed the Everton Domestic Society. It’s a company where women can put their good breeding and experience to excellent use. For example: I just finished an assignment where I helped a very shy young lady manage her first season. She did very well and will be married next year. My new assignment is a bit trickier. My dear friend’s widower has fallen on desperate times. His mother has hired me through the EDS to put his home and life back together before he loses everything. Markus was such a good man. It breaks my heart to see him in such a state.

I can’t let my emotions cloud my judgement. I have a job to do and it will take toughness and resolve to get it done.

Thank you, Phoebe. I for one, can’t wait to see how that all turns out. The working title of Pheobe and Markus’s story is Healing the Viscount. I hope it will be in your hands sometime next year, but I’ll keep you posted.
